Glass Fusion flowers - How to -
1.The first stage in this process is to cut all the pieces of coloured glass chosen to make up the main subject ( flower ) of the design - Fig. 1 -
2. Cut the surrounding glass in clear tekta, - Fig 2 - and try to ensure that all of the coloured and clear tekta pieces fit together like a jigsaw.
3. Cut a piece of tekta for the base that corresponds to the overall size of the top layer. Cover this liberally with areas of coloured frit ( powder, fine,medium or coarse) and then carefully place the pieces for the top layer over the frit - Fig. 3 -
4. Fire this to a full fuse
5. Extra detail can be applied using glass enamels, and the piece is then fired for a second time - Fig. 4 -
